Planet Redd, also known as Big Red, is a massive planet within the Prexus Galaxy of the North Quadrant of the universe. It is known for its radical history, cultural traditions, role in universal politics, and its abundant resources (such as 'red energy'), which are fought over. It is considered a superpower, a rival to Earth, and centerplace of industry.
Overview[]
Big Red is known for its blood-red color, and is much larger than Sol (Earth's sun). It is enriched in a history of strong military action and diplomacy. The planet has been shared by many races and fought over, its native inhabitants long extinct. Big Red has many biomes. It has autumn forests, oceans, red-sand deserts, and cities. It has large tundras with floating rocks, and mushrooms.
The planet is perhaps best known for the red energy its atmosphere gives off, which has been harvested and fought over (though it is a renewable resource from its core). It has healing abilities, is rich in oxygen, and smells like strawberries.
History[]
The planet has a long, diverse and war-filled history. Early on, Big Red became extremely powerful and head of many powerful empires, known for its diversity and and well-trained military.
In Age 1073, it became the first major diplomatic ally of Earth, with Kuzon Jr. traveling to the planet to establish the Big Red Partnership agreement (BRP). The Great Empire (TGE) became a member of BRP, which became the most powerful part of it. However the agreement gave too much power to Big Red, which would soon come to split the empire..
War of Unification[]
Significant traction had been building up in the space community since the fall of Kastair United (KU) in 1500. In 1480, Yjimo Asamazi formed the Galactic Rebellion on Planet Tazba. He was imprisoned however, as it posed a threat to Big Red and KU (which was funded by Big Red). President of Earth Hanna Rune began negotiating Asamazi's release and funding the rebellion in 1502, causing conflict between Earth and Big Red.
The Great Empire was weak by 1500. The BRP became a coalition turned alliance, of several superpowers, and effectively rivaled TGE's power. The BRP was a member of TGE, until Empress Yue Gerganda signed them off in July 1503 (citing clear different interests and trade issues), effectively seceding from TGE and splitting its power in half. This crossed the line, and there were grounds for conflict. To make matters worse, the Emperor of TGE resigned in August 1503. TGE and the BRP rivaled each other in power, entering into a cold war over influence and trade.
